Leche Flan Chiffon Cake - MKT
Leche flan as we know it is a rich, smooth and creamy custard that has a golden caramel syrup. A staple in every Filipino celebration, we decided to turn this favorite into our dessert of choice — cake.
The Leche Flan Chiffon Cake is a layered beauty that has a tender, light and moist chiffon base. Inbetween the two layers, we add our homemade leche flan filling and arnibal (caramelized brown sugar syrup) chantilly filling. The entire cake is then covered with the same arnibal chantilly, and we add chunks of our smooth leche flan on top to boot. Final touches include drizzles of arnibal and calamansi zest to brighten the flavor as well as to balance out the rich flavors and texture.
